Lithographie, LLC
Natural History Publications
This is a year of building, planning, and completion for Lithographie. The long awaited Jim and Dawn Minette Collection will be brought to press this fall, as will Topaz, the 14th entry in the MINERAL (extraLapis English) monograph series. Early this year, the 13th volume Smithsonite was published with our 2011 Topaz and Diamond Calendar coming available in August. This year we will deliver the last of the gorgeous handbound sponsor editions of American Mineral Treasures. The hardbound AMT is expected to be entirely out of print by Tucson, but linen and leather editions should be available into 2012. Numbers 15 and 16 of the MINERAL monograph series respectively exploring the San Juan Triangle and Diamond will be released in 2011.
Longer term, we have a monograph on Apatite and a double issue on Silver Minerals, which are starting to take shape. A new edition of John Sinkankas's Mineralogy for Amateurs is in the works and is slated for publication late in 2012 or early 2013. Also scheduled for a 2012 release, to coincide with the centennial of Arizona's statehood, is Arizona's Mineral Collection Heritage.
Other publishers are putting out great books as well. Bob Lauf continues to write monographs for Schiffer Publications. His latest, A Collector's Guide to the Pyroxene Group has just been added to the bookshop. We scored 15 copies of the Spanish-language tome La Fluorita and are expecting 50 copies of Luiz Menezes book on the minerals of Minas Gerais. It's a great era for mineral books!
Enjoy!
